Oh happy day, just got a batch of footage approved. Great way to start the day. If anyone has a few moments, could I get some feedback, criticism (good/bad), ideas, suggestion, etc..... just to make sure I'm on the right path. It would be much appreciated and thanks in advance.
Regarding Bins, I've got items in public bins that don't have corresponding thumbnails but when you hover over the bin they circulate so I know they're there.
Do I need to make all my Bins public? I'm assuming buyers can see all my clips even if not in Bins? or not public?

Yes all your clips online can be viewed and all clip bins should be public.

A lot of great shots with great color in my opinion. Good symmetry also in a lot of them.
I would say in a few shots with very little movement, I would find a way to create motion. Maybe even a tilt or pan would do it, but all and all looks good to me.

Wow ... how did you manage to get 237 clips uploaded while you joined Pond5 since a few weeks. That's an incredible achievement.
I like your stuff. Speaking for myself, I'm more into the animation/3D kind of things, but I like to see all the camera shot footage.
Happy uploading!

Congratulations on your new submissions. Took a quick look at your work and have a few suggestions. Your keywords look good.
Firstly, there is a limited and competitive market for the bulk of your submissions. That is most of the categories you have chosen are saturated by other contributors. The shot of the wind turbine is an exception, IMHO, as it is outstanding as is going to generate some sales in the long run. I would speculate, most of these shots in your new portfolio will not have sales. In the future, you may want to spend more time http://www.stockvideoseller.com/public_html/what-to-sell.html WHAT you upload. Uploading footage with little chance of return is a waste of your time - believe me, I've done enough of it. If you do upload in these saturated categories the shots you chose need to be outstanding and competitive somehow with the many many others you'll be up against. Anything you can go out and shoot with ease, without making a phone call in advance, may not be worth your time. Think about friends you know with unique access to industry, art production, hobbies or subjects which are unique and under represented.
Technically, I would also move into the action, up close and personal to your subjects. This would yield some good results in the lobster boat shots. Low angles and less distance from the subject. A small on camera light with a day light gel would also help give your subject more separation on the 2 dimensional screen.

Thanks to all for your feedback, time and ideas;
jason; still unsure whats causing some bins to have missing thumbnails but clips are present
Physics; good idea with the limited movement shots, I"ll give tilt & pan a try
fredmantel; I already had footage sitting on tape, just had to process & upload.
tmbpvideo; Thanks for the insight on subject matter. I'm reluctant to get close up shots of total strangers since it would require model release. I'll have to start putting family & friends into the action. Not quite sure what you meant by "day light gel"???.
Thanks again all

Day light gell = dichroic filter. It causes the light produced by an electric on camera light to have the same color temperature as sun light. If you dont use this, the result of a light can have unatural lighting effect.

phantomewo; I hope so, thanks so much for the encouragement..... you're awesome.
Physics; Thanks for the tip. Would that be in the order of 5600K or so? I'm assuming a white balance prior to shoot wouldn't be enough?

White balance will be confused using an electric light in daylight.
See the fill light would be one temperature, and everything else another. Dichroic filter fixes that, by making your electric light look like daylight.
I purchased a Mini Frezzi with built in dichroic filter. It adds a lot of weight to your travel gear, because lights with enough power to use the good filters usually come with the price of a hefty battery. The Mini Frezzi is very expensive on B&H, but they sell frequently on ebay for a good price. Remember to figure your batter and charger into the budgett, because you are better off buying those new so you know they don't have memory or defects. There are other models, and some may prefer different sets. I think Ikan makes a good one. I would avoid the small Anton Bauer ones with the blue battery, way to dim.
