You now have a great camera outfit. Have fun.

good deal PerJohan! Enjoy it!

I'm still trying to decide to upgrade to mark III or just keep on shooting with the Mark ii until something crazy comes out.

Chuckle chuckle... new toys that really don't make a difference.

For general stock, yup you are right. Still sell a lot of clips from old HV-20. For quality, lack of noise, noticeably better colors, contrast, sharpness etc, the 5D MKIII does beat the Mk II or any of the "T" versions. JUst like the 5D MK II is considerably better quality than the 7D. BUT, yup for general stock, probably not needed but sure makes me feel better submitting less noise and sharper footage for buyers to mess around with and destroy with extra over processing LOL.

hahaha I heard the opposite, you get food stamp discounts.

vader, if you don't know what you are doing with a powerful camera then it won't make a difference. I'm glad I've upgraded my camera along the way which has allowed me to push my limits and learn new limits. If I still had my hv30 I wouldn't be doing half the shots I am now.

Scott is this what you meant by pushing the limits with an 8000.00 camera? LOL

dapoopta 8 Jan 2013 04:24
Yep. 240 fps. You don't like it? I couldn't have done anything close to this with an hdv codec. Color grading wasn't even something to think about with that.

AVCHD holds up much better.

We outgrow our cameras... I once owned a FX1000 like you. I also owned a t2i. Keep doing the best you can Jason, eventually you will get to where you will want to upgrade. Just shoot within your limits and know when to add extra light, where your camera won't be able to do well enough at it's low light level. Here is a shot from your port that you recently did, maybe next time you can improve with the lighting a little by upgrading some of your previous equipment:

Didn't need to improve it with lighting but I could have removed the small amount of noise in background. But then I'm not using an 8 thousand dollar camera to shoot a toy burning. Spielberg you're not!!!

But Scott does think outside the box and in this business creative thinking will make you successful.
