Curator Ratings Effect Sales?!

I would rather have it so the curator was the only one who could rate clips. There are way too many currupt ways to manipulate the rating system. On some sites the rating system is quid pro quo between artists.

Man that is the truth. On IS there was a time if you gave someone a bad rating you would find all of your videos rated bad. Now it's a joke people will only rate a video a 5 rating if anything.
I've always thought there was no place in this business for a rating system.
This is a business not an art show.

How do u know what a reviewer/curator has rated a clip?

400 million years ago when pond5 started it used to be public, they would be the first ones to give a rating. Actually the rating looked different too. Then at some point they made it invisible, so to speak.

I still rate all your videos 0 stars Mark.

I have been wondering this for awhile: why does Pond5 limit the keywords to 25 when other sites all stop at 50? Is this a means of limiting keyword spamming? I find it a bit restricting as generally, I can always find many appropriate (now) keywords well over 25 for buyer to triangulate.

Because of the keywording war of 2008, The key limit became more strict because of extreme spamming.

I still sneak in your house at night and watch you and your gf sleep Scott.....
I hope you don't mind but Ive been eating your "rocky road ice cream" and ordering reruns of "Dog the bounty hunter" on your ondemand DVR

There must be dozens of threads about the keyword limit. In the past and to some extent still keyword spam was as bad as it could get. With 25 an artist still has plenty of words to better describe with reaching too far into the spam bucket. At first I was opposed, now maybe dropping it to 20 would help eliminate more spam.

the best way to combat the keyword limit is to write a detailed description for the clip, making sure the keywords you can't fit into the limit are in the description.. That way if you search for the word the clip invariably shows up.. I have tried and tested this theory with perfect results!

To many here emphasize the need for more than 25 keywords and think they will sell more if 50 were allowed. Not upset those who think that but less then 25 can sell more. Now I am not going mention the artist nor the clip ID but this particular clip has sold 24 times with only 12 relevant keywords to describe it.

Just maybe some are missing the point to the term RELEVANT KEYWORDS.
