Oh, Gene! :)

I'm doing RAW recording on 5dmk3 pretty often. I just got faster CF card and I can now shoot 1080p at 25fps. Benefit of this? No noise, no fear of having blown out video and I can make prores 10bit for higher quality standards. I was even thinking making my own database of AE projects with RAW 14bit files ready to export for own editing needs.

I mark my RAW projects with used camera "5D Mark III RAW"

can you do 30fps?

If you have a CF card with writing speed of 105MB/s, you could record 1080p at 30fps. Otherwise I had to lower the resolution to 1720x968 for 30fps to get about 83MB/s which is my CF max speed. You can upscale the footage without any lost details. I even upscaled some 1280x720p to 1080p without any serious problems :)

I know this is a 5d mk3 - ML thread....please forgive my trespass.

ML experiments with both internal and external intervalometer on T2i met with repeated lockup failures. Had to wipe the ML, sadly. Did not test with video, since I have a video camera for that, although in preliminary tests with ML and various settings I still saw dreaded and offensive moire.

Gene, did you use the nightly builds or the latest stable version? I had a similar issue with one of their nightly builds but the current nightly builds work fine.

I think (guess) ML works best on the MKii. I also perceived more moire in the T2i using ML

Ionescu - it was the latest stable version. I didn't have time to do a lot of testing, and when I found it locked up I was trying to get a shot, so no time to muck about.

Luxor - now that's interesting to hear! Based on what I've seen so far, I'm keeping my conception that the T2i might be fine for timelapse work, but for video, too much danger of losing shots to that nasty moire issue. It's one of my greatest peeves, and I do so hate to lose shots to it!

Gene, try and format the card.
