Making global changes to accepted clips

Hey P5,
As the number of contributor clips continue to grow it would be great if global changes could be applied by a contributor to a group of their accepted clips. For instance, if I want to change the price on a group of my clips I would love to do it from the uploads page rather than opening each clip in edit mode one at a time. This would also apply to changing titles, descriptions and adding or subtracting keywords. Addressing all of these issues might be tricky but it would sure help if the pricing one at least was made easier.
Thanks!
Bryan

Hi Bryan,
We already have this functionality - it can be done using templates. To make a template, go to your MyPond>Uploads page and click on "edit templates" (on the upper right). You can then add any info that is shared among multiple clips (for instance, camera type, price, location, etc) and save it. Then, on your Uploads page, select the clips you want to edit and choose "apply template" from the dropdown.
Voilá! :) That is more or less what your talking about, right?
We're in the process of making it even better, by allowing you to do this dynamically (multiple clip editing without creating a template) and also to remove specific info from clips (a "reverse template").
Let us know if there's other functionality that would come in handy.

That is cool!! I sort of thought that might work... one question though. What if the clips are already live and I want to change the price on 10 clips... but I don't want to affect any of the other info on those clips and they are all different topics... different key words and titles (wow.. that's confusing :-) ), if I use a template, won't it affect my other info on the 10 clips? Is there a way to change the price but not the other tag info? Will that be in the new functionality?
...and, will it have to be reviewed again by the curator?
Thanks a million!! You guys have been so responsive!! You will have lots of new people joining this way.

The info that you leave blank on the template will not be applied to clips. So if you just have the price on your template, that will be the only field that gets applied to the clips - everything else will stay the same.
The clips don't get submitted to curator when you apply a template. If you want to send them to curator, you'll need to select them on the Uploads page, and then chose "send to curator" from the dropdown. But there's no need to do this for already approved clips, unless you have questions about them, or want us to double check the info.

Wow, you can't get faster than that! I ask for something and it's already done :) Great job, thanks so much.
