BUG in playing clips

Hi!

It seems there is a bug when playing clips. In my gallery there are 24 such clips. It does not matter if you hold a mouse over thumbnail or open it in Edit mode, clip does not play. I tried with Internet Explorer 7 and with Firefox 2.0.0.1 but clips do not play.

I placed all of them into 'noplay' ClipBin and made this ClipBin public - can someone test if these clips play in your browser:

I'm not sure if this is something to do with the original .mov files but all clips I prepared with the same MPEG Streamclip software with the same settings.

Here are few 'non-playable' clips to check if they'll play in this post:

Hi Zygis,

I can see them... not sure if that helps. I know this is a dumb question, but have you cleaned your cache and tried in a new window?

Hi!

I also 'see' them. But when you hold mouse over the clip it should play.

Yes, I checked them with Internet Explored (I think it is different cache) and they do not play.

Hi, Cardoso!

Sorry to say, but you were right. What a shame to me (:

I closed Firefox and reopened it again an all clips play OK.

But just wondering what could be a reason for this?

Hi!

For some reason the browser (this is not limited to firefox) seems to get into a state where it's a bit unwilling to show a clip. I do not know why it does, sometimes reloading the page helps, sometimes I must control-alt-delete and kill firefox and then restart it.

The browser should clean up everything that has to do with a page when jumping to a new one so likely this is a flash+browser bug. Ofcourse, that doesn't mean one could try dodging the bug but so far I haven't figured out how.

Best regards,
Marcus

No Shame Zygis... with so many factors out there, it's impossible to remember everything. Happens to all of us ...to me anyway :-)

Marcus... this might be a good FAQ for the FAQ page? Potential buyers might be confused and look there for an answer.

Take care

Sorry for the enormous delay. I had to do something else and then I forgot about it.

It is to embarrassing to put in the faq, methinks. ;-) Anyway, i've added a number (seconds since Jan 1 1970 / 10) to the preview url. Hence it should go out of cache after 10s. A good way of hiding the problem.

Best regards,
Marcus
