lots of suggestions

I have a several possible ideas for improvments, I came up with them with the help of
my two best friends Jack Daniels and Samuel Adams. lol, but seriously.

1. when a buyer buys a clip, give them an optional field where they can enter who they represent... i.e. the BBC, dreamworks, disney, or uncle larrys discount wedding productions. That way when they buy it, I know what kind of production company it was that bought it.

2. also the myuploads list gets very long, and the sorting does help, but I wish there was a way you could hide clips. You could select a bunch of clips you have already uploaded a long time ago, and then submit a command that would 'hide' these clips. At the top there would be something that said 120 clips hidden. and you could always 'unhide all' for pricing updates etc.

3. I also think there should be an extra category of "historical" clips.

4. on a clip at the side of the page it says username, and the copyright, but I also think the avatar should be visible (as sort of a logo or trademark or whatever.) Most people who make videos, or edit videos etc are very visually oriented people, and the avatar would leave more of an impression than just the user name.

5. I know I said this before, but I think there should be an IMG command for posting pictures on the artist page or in forums. Maybe on my artist page I could show a picture of my studio or my camera, my company logo, myself. or other important things like this:
http://i120.photobucket.com/albums/o162/gallahad_2006/stormtrooperWTF2.jpg

6. Also what if there was a system where a clip could get a 'trophy' from the curator for being exceptionally good, or unique. This would give people an incentive to provide higher quality clips rather than focusing on quantity. Newgrounds.com kind of does this. (If you havent heard of this site keep in mind it appeals to a younger demographic. Im 24 By the way.) So on the artists page it would say 450 clips with 3 quality trophies and 2 unique trophies. By unique I mean something VERY difficult to get. (i.e. a clip of Paris Hilton shooting a bear, lol) Buyers prefer high quality beautiful clips or clips that are unique or hard to get. Assuming they fit the project of course, and maybe my example was not the best in the world, but you get the idea.

7. Also there is a magazine called creative cow magazine and a lot of industry pros read it, from videographers all the way up to hollywood. Artbeats has been around for a long time, and they have done a lot of marketing research, and they always have an ad in creative cow magazine.I guarentee if you put an ad in creative cow magazine p5 will get more business. Its like burger kings philosophy, don't do any location research, just build restaurants in
the same locations as mcdonalds.

If you don't like my ideas just say so, I won't take it personally, I will probably argue my point,
but I promise I won't get mad. You can be a straight shooter with me :D

p.s. I sent tom my tax form,,,,
thanks a lot, Im a HUGE fan of giving
money to the government. no im just kidding,
I know they will spend it wisely.... HA!

also please forgive me for any spelling errors, I type the same way as I make love,
fast and furious. Thats how I roll :P

@1: I like the idea. I don't think it will see much use, but even a little bit of feedback is better than none.

@2: Wow, you need to hide 120 sales to get to your most recent files...? ;-)
Seriously: You can use the search engine for that. In myPond->Uploads search for "itemgt:80000 AND salegt:0" for all clips with sales and with item number 80000 and later. Also check "verbose" to see the number of sales the clip has. (Now what I'd like to see there is an additional column for "commissions the clip made".)

@3: I second that one.

@5: Strange, I always thought there was... Now that you mention it: Definitly a must have!

@7: Oh, come on, Pond5 is a lot better than McD and BC combined! ;-)
But yes I agree, there should be more adds and visible marketing. By the way, any sign of that elusive corner yet? ;-)
