Has all clips been processed to HQ view?

Don't remember which thread we were talking about this last week. At that time there were thousands of clips that had not processed to a high quality preview. Have they now all made it through the processing?
Most look better now but based on other agencies I think the previews can be brightened and a little sharper overall. The quality of the preview is a real make or break and determines if a buyer buys here or elsewhere. We all want it bought here!

The preview for a clip I have that was just accepted today (well actually technically yesterday) is darker than the original clip.

In the original file you can see much more detail of the space station because the clip is a little brighter. Look on the still frame at about 9 o'clock on the space station, then hit the play button and watch how much darker it gets. Definitely would like to see this fixed. I agree about it being a real make or break and that we want our clips bought here!

All the about 30k clips have had their preview generated with the exception of some 40 clips where the preview files was very small. This was because the vp6-encoder did tend to crash on small files so we put a paranoia limit.

When the xl version is found, the preview is in ok quality. Note: This might change in the future, but right now it works like this.

I agree, the customers' sense of quality (and sales) would improve with better preview videos and the generated previews tend to look darker than the original files.

http://www.timelapse.com/comparison/.

In the comparison, both Flash videos are from the same QuickTime source file. My batch conversion uses the Adobe Flash Video program with no luminance or chrominance changes, just a straight batch run from the original QuickTime file to Flash video.

I'd love the opportunity to supply my own FLV files in the upload.

Every site I submit to has the same problem, so I think they all use the same back-end software for flash conversion. Fortunately it's much less of an issue if a buyer downloads a watermarked Comp.

Hey Marcus,
I was reviewing some footage here and the same at another place. The one here at P5 really looks dull and muddy, lacking definition and probably would never sell looking like this. I know it's the photographer ;)

Anyway the sharpness, brightness, definition and overall appearance is so much better elsewhere. I'm loyal here and P5 gets all my stuff and no one else gets even half. Any idea on why this is so bad of a preview? There are others but this one looked particularly bad.
.

Thanks for looking,

Don

I just reviewed a couple of my newer clips, it appears that they are much brighter and not near as dark as before. The contrast, brightness and sharpness looks very very good. Is this a new change for the better?
