Titling

I am new on Pond 5. Would someone tell me what is the difference between "Title" and "Description"? On the one hand Pond 5 solicits to add a somewhat verbose title which may help the media getting a notice, on the other, they are putting another description column. My question is, if everything is written on the title column, what is there left to write in the description column? PLEASE ANSWER!
