In Lisvori, Lesbos, excavations by the University of Crete are in progress as tools created by hominids, an ancestrial species to humans, were found dating back to the Stone Age. Archeologist, Nena Galanidou, describes the tools found as ancient smartphones, as they were used by hominids to do a variety of tasks in their daily lives, such as butchering animals and slicing fruit. The findings also prove that with the lowering of the sea level the island was connected to Asia and hominids from Asia and Africa walked to Lesbos, making Lesbos an island that has been accepting migrants and refugees from the Stone Age era to today.
