Uploading from hard drive via iphone

To make a long story short, I moved and have no access to Internet of any kind except satellite. However, I have unlimited data on my iPhone. Have any of you ever hooked an external hard drive to your phone and uploaded that way? Don't laugh, I'm not technically savvy except with X-ray machines. Lol

You can do it with Wi-Fi tethering: http://www.computerworld.com/article/2499772/mobile-wireless/mobile-wireless-wi-fi-tethering-101-use-a-smartphone-as-a-mobile-hotspot.html

I can't use it as a hotspot. The carrier doesn't "allow" that and there is no jailbreak yet for the updated iPhone, so they can "see" me using it as a hotspot

do you have sprint? how fast is the satellite?

I have AT&T. I heard satellite is slow, but it may be my only option but it is very expensive for the data I need for uploading. Unlimited satellite isn't really unlimited. It's unlimited in the middle of the night. It may be my only option though I was just looking for a work around with the phone.

you might look at getting an android device to just tether with... but if AT&T can figure out you are doing that you'll get charged probably.

How many GB do you upload a month? Is there a public library?

May be a silly question for you US guys / girls, but is it 4G data connection? In Finland we get unlimited 100M/100M 4G for 20 euros / month

damn, that's super pricing. USA is crazy expensive for internet and mobile phones.

I had Time Warner before I moved and the most I used was 200gb/mo, it's easy to check on their website.
Supposedly AT&T can tell if you are tethering.
It is 4G. I'm the queen of silly questions. I was just hoping someone had already figured out how to work around. These iphones are mini computers.

I use the Huawei LTE CPE B593 Wi-Fi Router which has a SIM card (like smart phone). Very good thing.
