holy crap. how can they do 4k at 60fps! That should mean they can do a lot faster at lower res.
why would you need 4 hdmi outputs? that is what the one site 'says' it will have.

It shoots 4 corners of the scene with each imager (or something like that) then with the software it puts the pieces back together.

Where on earth do I have to go to watch a 4K movie? Are there 4K desktops ? Do I have to go to IMAX? What's the market for this innovation?

For most people it would only mean you would have a huge real estate of video to crop down to 1080
Just like photos, if you have something in the shot you don't want, crop it.
can't do that now shooting 1080 unless you want to crop to 720

Ask VaderVideo he has sold a few 4k clips. kk5hy is right. I have cropped 1080 clips to 720 to get a better view of the shot. With 4k you have more flexibility and it will look as if you have several camera angles. My concern with JVC cameras is a reputation for being more prone to have dead pixels and poor low light performance. Example of 1080 cropped to 720:
Bad clip:
Good clip:
Imagine the flexibility you will have with a 4k reasonable priced camera. You can literally shoot from the hip without looking at the viewfinder and crop to get a perfect 1080 clip.
I hope it will be under $4k since it's little brother is $1.1k. I hope you do not get 4 separate HD clips; one in each card that you later have to unite with a proprietary software. Wrong it does record 4 separate feeds that you have to join with their supplied software.

Taking about advantages of 4k: WideWeb look at this beautiful 4k video taken by you.
You can increase your "productivity" by cropping the section of the upper torso and head of Jesus into a 1920x1080 clip with no loss in picture quality. You have another 4k clip inside an airport terminal that has the potential of been divided into 3 cropped 1920x1080 clips.

Yes, I am doing it occasionally. Just I did not imagine that someone is going to produce a camera with cropping in his mind.
