Reviews in holding pattern?

Cool, action! I can already imagine the headlines:

Rebellion at P5! The return of the main street submitters shakes the empire to its foundations!

I guess we have to divide this possible alliance. Too dangerous to be allowed...We could bring them all unarmed to Nevada desert where we hide just 1 HV30, 1 tape and 1 battery. The one who finds it first and survives the attack of the other 9, might then have a chance to take some shots of Area 51. (I´m actually wondering if it´s harder to escape from the US-authorities or the competing artists :-).

Does this happen on a regular basis?
stefgo 22 Feb 2009 20:07
No, usually I do not take anyone to Area 51 nor have I been there to myself :)...

Ok, enough of the hijack thing. No, it doesn´t happen regularly. Only when a huge number of new submissions arrive at P5, mostly via DVD or HDD. I trust P5 that they have a strategy that avoids that one high volume submission blocks the review of other artists. I am only waiting about 3 days now, so nothing to complain about from my side.

This is my seventh day waiting.
ironstrike 22 Feb 2009 22:03
Ive waited a long time too, seems really long.
But I try not to focus on that, in the long run a few weeks of the clips being offline is insignificant. Just focus on making the clips.

Guys, even reviewers need vacation every now and then - and with P5 now being a big company, I guess they are all celebrating in Rio. Whoever makes it back on Wednesday (or later) will take care of our clips. ;-)

Maybe its a subtle way of P5 trying to slow down the rate of uploads. Now that they have critical mass, they may be starting to think about the cost of carrying so many clips on the servers. There has to be a certain limit to the amount of clips before the cost/benefit ratio goes into decline. Anyone know how many clips the other leading Stock Video outlets have on line?

Area 51 ... hummmm I can neither confirm nor deny it's existence or location. I can confirm there is a very large area of desert north of Las Vegas that is off limits to everyone. I have seen this area and of course can neither confirm not deny what happens at such a non-existent place. I can confirm I've seen dozens or hundreds of craters in that same general area caused by above and underground nuclear explosives. It truly does look like the surface of the moon. So where is that camera hidden?
ironstrike 23 Feb 2009 00:35
Ive been to the san rafael swell which was going to be used as a nuclear testing site. It was pretty cool, they didn't actually detonate it but you can still walk through some of the tunnels they drilled.

Im going to los alamos in a few months, there is a place where they sell gov surplus to production companies. Its called the "black hole" lol they have some crazy stuff there. Im still debating whether I should bring my 5d (when I get it) the desert might be bad if the sensor picks dirt up.

I think los alamos is what they based "black mesa" off of when they made hl and hl2

Oh man, you guys are funny!! Don't worry varius I'm here, not sure what good I can do. I'm holed up editing a project at he moment. Don't have time to keyword the big batch I still have on the back-burner. Going to take about 6 weeks to do the balance. As for Area 51... cool!

Hey Stef, nice shot! :-) But it isn't me this time, my clips got accepted on Wednesday, about 550 at once... hehehehehehe.
