Start it all over again. LOL
First Camera, then software and later No sale !! ;)
Be an adult, please... Go for Sony RX10, it can't be too wrong when GH4 is too expensive. It is really not for you (IMHO). Changing lense, expensive, difficult to handle (cleaning sensor, changing lenses), more lenses....You will be super happy with your Sony compact... Or just wait for the RX10 M2...... It is on the door...

I am interested to know why you think I can't handle a GH4 ? I used to use 5x4, medium format Hassle-balds, print cibachrome, color print, BW print at college almost 30 years ago ;-)

Sure you can handle the GH4, it just takes some time to get used to. I'm getting more comfortable with it, thanks also to some of the people here who gave great advice and tips. You can start using the kit lens, which is 14-140mm. I'd prefer a bit wider angle in 4K, but it gives you a decent range both ways. The 2nd version of the RX10 could be nice as well, as patuwe suggests.

My dear Marbury,
Even though you are a re-born Ansel Adams, you still need to make up your own mind of what you want. And this is your weakness. And second weakness is your finance situation. ;)
Difficult to handle did not mean you can't shoot good picture / movie with this camera, but rather your un-willingness to use a tripod, so made you really a amateur photographer now.
Soon after you got your GH4 you will start complaining dust on censor, changing lenses. Panasonic don't provide a good range of zoom lense for GH system. They want customers buy lot of lenses so they can make money. Even 14-140mm is not enough IMO...14-140mm cost €600-, 12-35mm €8-900€, 7-14mm €945. They are all expensive and not very bright, except 12-35mm F2.8. On the other hand your Sony RX10 has constant F2.8 and good Zoom range, what are you missing? You can still wait for the RX10 M2, they will come out soon, end of the year or next. But when you don't go into to 4K you are missing a lot in the future market. That is all other Forums friends told you. But this is up to your decision. (Your weakness !!)
I bought my GH4 and 3 lenses, tested it. There are few things I don't like, so I return it (my EU consumer right, which you said you don't have. May be your are from the Mars, not EU). Now I am very happy with my another camera ...
Asking other people's subjective opinion is no use for you, you need to use it and find out by yourself.

@marbury - This is the camera that my luxorpyramid (Sanyo Xacti FH1) account is all about. I bought it used for $160. It has sold thousands of dollars between Pond5 and SS. Clips keep selling. My GH3 and T2i have not been able to sell as much. Your camera is way far better than the FH1. Just keep shooting and uploading. Your horizon must be 10,000 clips. Change to GH4 only if your are serious of going 4k. ......"shut-up, shoot, and upload"...... Repeat after me: "shut-up, shoot, and upload", "shut-up, shoot, and upload", "shut-up, shoot, and upload".

Marbury,
If you are sure you will buy Sony RX10 M2, they will produce exclusive for you. You are a big customer/head whom/who they can't afford to lose !! ;)

If you really need to buy a dslr type of camera for both stills and video and 4K capabilities in the future and need it now, better go with Sony A7 rather that the GH4.I find it to be a better camera overall,(and way better stills camera for photos and really impressive timelapse capabilities if you are into that) ,of course with quirks since its a dslr and not a real video camera, and you can always kind of solve the lens problem with the latest metabones adapter and canon zoom lenses if you already have them. Full frame can be an issue though depending on the type of footage you shoot.4K of course is a costly upgrade since you will need an external recorder. Now dare i say that for people doing stock video C100 is a way better camera than these two,but i can hear the boo coming so i'll stop right there :)
