no demands. 3D is still a few years before being popular enough for regular 3D stock sales. Now is the time to start building a portfolio BUT it must be in a user friendly format. It does appear that two individual 1920x1080 HD clips is the answer AS LONG as they are both tied together to easily be bought together or as individual 2D footage clips. Having two separate right / left but not having them linked is a bad idea IMHO.

as well as linking the two right / left eye footage it would be nice to be able to sell one for a given price and discount the other if both left and right are bought together. This way they have value as both 2D as well as 3D.

@AllFractUp - I guess you did not read Dacuz thread titled "Pond5 impossible to reach" and saying: "Does anyone else have this problem? I've tried calling, emailing - zero response in the last few days. It frustrating as I buy and sell on pond5 often. Why don't I get any loving from P5?"
Quick responses from P5 is not part of their customer service Total Quality Control program.
It will be so useful for interested members to know where to stir the boat in the forthcoming 3D market.

Hey Fract, we do thank you for some of your comments over the last while. I know you have had a few shows and sell to disco DJ, but some comments are just too much and too many. You have some great fracts but in most subjects you have little knowledge and don't have any sales here to backup your comments. With so many of your files online here and relatively no sales maybe we want comments by those who are successful in actually selling footage. somehow you need to figure out that volume of large numbers of fracts means nothing if their are no sales. Looks like the fract market is just saturated with no real stock future.
So please go argue in the artists only forum where buyers and sellers can ignore threads that they don't care about easier. I bold faced as emphasis on the subject, no demand and no yelling. So what is being said, you do not try to sell footage of any kind so calm down your comments on such subjects and we will stay out of the fract business side ;)

@ Fract and @ Phantom... Don (Phantom) - you are absolutely correct in your statements regarding Fract. Fract - you have in many cases posted totally and outright wrong information when it comes to technical or important information regarding production of footage. I have expressed (maybe not as directly) the same comments to you as well. There is no need to start a war here. Please do go to the artists only forums to converse and ask questions instead of posting wrong information or even worse - useless information. We all know how excited you are are about fractals. But you don't need to be overbearing by posting in every thread everyday. All you end doing by that is alienating everyone. Of course - you may now proceed to attack me as well with your sarcasm. ;)

Such and interesting thread going to waste by "thread spamming".....
Back to the main subject, my guess is that 2 Full HD files should be uploaded just like Zygistudio suggested and that just as Zygistudio did, a link to the sister clip should be place within the description of the file. As the best 3D seller, Zygistudio is breaking the first waves. I suspect that since P5 has practically zero sales experience in 3D they prefer to remain quiet for now.
And I did not forget that VaderVideo is paving the way for 2K and 4K timelapse clips.
@phantomewo, while in Europe, did you remove the housing lens of the GoPro while shooting exterior shots? Did you glue a bubble level to the housing?
The Sony consumer and compact pro 3D camcorder captures one single MVC file at 28mbs. I suppose that it translates to 14 mbs VBR left side of the file and 14 mbs VBR right side of the file. The GoPro is 15mbs in each file contained in 2 different cards.
Does anybody know if there is a dramatic difference between in the quality of the image (14 mbs AVCHD vs 15 mbs MP4/H.264)?
The GoPro is a small camera but its sensor is much bigger than the Sony sensor, will it need less light to get the job done?

Humm didn't think about removing the case lens, great idea if it's dry. Also the bubble is a great idea. I have the lcd screen but it only works when using the GoPro as a single camera. The GoPro is good if you want a very wide angle almost fish-eye look and it does capture left and right completely separate. Hopefully P5 will give us an easy way to link the left and right footage and a way to sell one as a 2D and discount the second to make a full 3D.
Worst think about the GoPro is bad battery life. When turned on (even when not shooting) the best I can get is a little over an hour. I have a half dozen new batteries and it's the same. SO not to get off the subject of 3D format. Some great suggestions .... keep them coming.

Spotmatik approach to the format issue. "put it all in one clip"
