Gene: this probably not the case as I am sure you already know this but are you using ND filters on your Inspire to drop the shutter speed closer to 1/50 or 1/60th? I have seen some nasty flicker/stutter on detailed views on my Phantom 3 if I let the shutter speed get too high.

No ... this is a documented issue. Flicker in highly detailed areas. A B frame is missing from the cadence, a full resample of the image sequence every 8 frames. Very nasty. Not related to shutter speed, frame rate, or resolution size. I usually do use ND, for what it's worth ... the flicker happens any time there is a highly detailed section of the frame. Some people can't see it, which is kinda funny, and Youtube compression eats it up so it was hard to convince people to be able to see it. I'll PM you with a link ... this clip cannot be denied.

Gene: Thanks for the clip. It does indeed have issues. Top half of the frame all good, bottom half rubbish when camera is moving. Converted it to mkv with DivX pro and watched on our 4k TV and it was the same story. Haven't seen anything that bad with my P3 and they are similar cameras. Guess you just have to compromise on your shooting style with a small sensor, highly compressed codec camera hanging from a vibrating and moving aerial platform. Not sure if 24fps is helping either. Love to know what the shutter speed was as a bit of blur in the detail probably could have helped things but thats pure conjecture.

Thanks for checking it - that was a really really bad example, usually it's more subtle (just just as annoying) and it really relates not so much to vibration, but to the proximity of detail. In this case the gravel is so close that any motion whatsoever caused the flicker, and it is the same with trees ... the higher over the trees I get, the less flicker there is. And no, the 24P wasn't helping. Lucky for me the better shots of this shoot were higher, with more motion from a greater distance, and some came out stunningly well.
I'm encouraged that you haven't seen anything like that with the P3 ... they are not just similar cameras ... supposedly they are simply repackaged .. BUT they may have dealt with the flicker issue for the newer cameras, suggesting that the new X3 and the X5/R will both be free of this flaw.

By all mean, 60fps on 4K is needed...
DJI had already won a nose ahead of GoPro, they have Forth Third in their collection for the Professional Film makers, and now combined this Osmo for consumers. Wow!
The world is bunter / Colorful. It seems no one is interested in the Light L16 camera which aKennedy comment on. Take a look and it can be a game changing monster.

60fps 4K is awesome. My only cam that shoots it is too big to have a lot of fun with. Actually, yeah, it's funny so many options exist to mod GoPro for better lenses ... strange GoPro didn't come out with m43 sensor body. Or not .. they have probably the biggest single success being that everyone and their Grandmother has at least two ...
Cinecam: Endurance? You mean battery life, how long you can hold your arm up, or how long the unit lasts without becoming so much junk? If its any info, the X3 camera on Zenmuse gimbal has run pretty trouble-free as long as I've had it (them) -that relationship started in early spring thios year. Problems: Camera stopped functioning when I crashed Inspire into tree, Inspire fell on camera and broke arm and ribbon cable. Sent in for repair. Good thing I got that back as my replacement cam stopped functioning when Inspire 1 lost GPS at 2' over water and dipped camera in ... it's all dried out, but have not tested since. Camera unit operates fine after being on top of VW on rough roads, flopping around more than in flight.

Oh, and we are considering the Light camera ... not so much for video, but timelapse work might be epic!

@cinecameratv quote "Very interesting concept. I am concerned with ENDURANCE." .........Viagra? :D
Just ordered Osmo, hoping for greatness will accept being OK
Battery standby around 6 hours, filming one hour..............recharging time for battery one hour.

LoL "endurance" of the OSMO .... the ability for it to put up with strain, hardship and years of use. You do not want to buy something which electric motors burn out in 1 year. ¿How many hours will the motors run without failure? You know what I mean. You buy a Canon, Nikon or a 1911 and you can take it to your grave.
