Sorry, spent the last two hours trying to find it, can't. Other than here at P5 there is little to no other comments on unacceptable noise. It seems that everyone here has the same look and concern. P5 and SS have both said they see no issues. Then again they are using HD monitors like we are. I hope we will all be happy. It seems that all other Z-100 profession review videographers are happy. I think we need to stop looking at zoomed views and keep shooting.

When I shoot 4k time lapse, and look at zoomed views, it does not produce noise from being looked at on an HD monitor. That leads me to believe it is the cameras and not the monitor. Just a thought.

Of course is the camera with a sensor noise issue otherwise the Sony F55 have no problem with this kind of noise in 4K resolution.
Viewing the 4K footage in fullscreen (filling the image into) on a HD monitor you will not see any noise. You need to play the footage with Quicktime (as it is in 4K) and not click the fullscreen option or take a frame grab and open it even in Paint as it is in 100% and scroll up and down, left to right to check the quality.
If you accept it that's fine! Sometimes content is the KING!
Is not the single Sony camera (or others) that produce sensor noise.
And there are other users of Z100 with the same issue:

Hi!
Last week I was testing the Sony 4k Z100 and saw on my Seiki 4K Monitor a lot of Sensor Noise (only in 4k !!!)
I captured it and zoomed in on PremiereCC and Avid 7 and could really see the Sensor Noise.
Did you experience the same ??
Thanx for any input, because I am serious in buying the Z100. But now I am on hold.
Greetings from Austria.
I am a longtime follower even that I am on Avid ;-)

P5 and SS will accept that since they also accept noisy low quality HD footage. Content is the KING!

I just talked to Sony Tech support. Good guy who seemed to knowledgeable. He said the Z-100 apparent sensor noise is normal. I explained that I was used to 5D MK II / III and he said that due to the small sensor size in the Z-100 compared to larger it needs more light. I also explained that my clips have all been bright day. He said that all Z-100 and AX-1 will look the same. It is not a problem and normal as per design. Sooooo we got what we got and Sony says it's normal and acceptable. Seems like the rest of the world is happy and it's just us P5 guys who are being too critical.

Sony is trying to sell these cameras. Of course they say it's "acceptable".
If the camera has noise in bright light, then maybe this isn't the camera to use for stock?
I'm glad you guys are having this conversation, I wouldn't touch one of these Sony cameras.
(not that I was going to get one anyway)

I'm not critical.
I just remarked that even the price is low the quality of the footage is not comparable with Red Cameras, Canon 1DC or Sony F55.
And in time you will see more and more users who are not in loved for Z-100 and AX-1.

The previously announced firmware upgrade enabling a longer record time, SD card activation and "more" is due in March. A month before NAB. I'm sure they are working hard to be ready for that. I just do not see the BMC 4K as an option for a run & gun camera ... if they ever can make it work at all.

Sony just announced new 4K camcorder. They flood again the market with plastic cameras.

So.....this "4k consumer camera" has a sensor almost twice the size as the AX1 and Z100? A 1" Exmor sensor vs a 1/2.3" .
