codec still sucks on the phantom 4. Feel like these things are a waste of money for the time being. I'll play with my phantom 3 advanced until the next batch of better cameras rolls out. The HD at 60mbps seems sufficient, but no way at 4k.

I agree that the camera is by far the weakest link. Interesting thing is that the bitrate is the same as the gopro 4k. While it is not great, I have sold thousands of dollars from gopro footage. The funny thing is that most of my 4k sales come from the gopro and not my gh4. My guess is that they want the highest quality possible to shrink to a 1080 timeline so they have more to work with. I'm hoping that the footage from the phantom will perform similar to my gopro shots. Only time will tell. Uploading my first clips as I type.

Haha! May be we should use GoPro 4K instead of paying so much for those Sony and Panasonic plus Co.

Gopro Protune better than DJI. s'truth. Same bitrate, codec can even share the same card simultaneously, but it just looks better with less garbage. Too bad DJI didn't have the same quality as GoPro ... I'd still have an Inspire if they did. Back to fighting with the Matrix and RX100m4 .. at least the footage looks great, if not as stable.

Cool video Jake! I´ve got a tremendous good offer on a 3DR Solo. Have to decide to buy tomorrow. Any thoughts? What I have seen its easy to fly and have som nice futures like orbit, cable and selfie shooting modes

After experiencing first hand how reliable dji is with the phantom 4 and how unreliable my walkera h500 was it will be hard for me to ever trust another company. One thing to keep in mind is the video feed. DJIs light bridge is an incredible technology. My video feed is crisp clear making it super easy to fly. My H 500 had video feed but was so bad I could barely see anything even with it close to me. I have never flown or tested the 3d r solo so I couldn't say for sure. All I know is that I am extremely satisfied with my phantom 4.

Another sample on my second test flight. This time I felt confident enough to take it off beginner mode and venture out farther.
