$50 price cap?

Of course the low ball bottom footage prices did improve, no doubt since that is all that was shown. Sorry but as many other trusted Artists have stated, all of us following P5 direction to value our footage and not to race to the bottom have been negatively financially impacted to a level seldom seen in any retail business. The industry standard at SS, AD, SB, ME and every legitimate agency is not sub $50. We have very lately been told that P5 had an agreement with Adobe to not race to bottom. Increased sales, sorry too many here have confirmed that did not occur. So the bottom feeders were blessed since April while the bread and butter loyal followers of P5 were sacrificed ... sales shows what happened. Of course with over ten million clips P5 as an entity can experiment and not be hurt because of higher volume of low priced sales. Those who followed your direction were and are being sacrificed individually. Please start thinking of individuals and their families, if the low ball footage is good it will sell. Bad quality high priced clips will not sell. Every competitor in the world has been reading this and other forums, does not do good for public relations. Never seen complaints so strong against any other agency. P5 used to advertise the highest royalty, most Artist friendly and fair agency. Might want to think about reparations and reversal of latest adjustments that have significantly impacted your suppliers and gain that prestige level back. Public opinion good or bad impacts companies more than any marketing money spent. Our competitors are loving what has been happening.

OK then, by a show of hands, who is seeing a 30% INCREASE revenue? Nope, my hand isn't going up!

From Pond5's own blog entitled "How to Price Your Pond5 Media" we read the following statement: "It’s also worth noting that the minimum price for a 4k clip at most of our leading competitors is $199, so if you’re pricing below that, you may be selling yourself (and your media) short."

So, it would appear to me that they are encouraging us to price our media so that it is never seen in a search. Great way to increase our sales doncha think?

How about removing the the $50 or $80 cap and adding a note that informs buyers that they can move the slider to filter for clips that are more in their price range?

I appreciate your efforts to increase revenue for P5 and the contributors. However, your "test" results are screaming so loudly in our ears that we can't hear the corporate babble about increasing revenue that you are enlightening us with. All your rhetoric about how well the test results are going doesn't mean much do the contributors who are having to take out loans to pay bills and buy groceries.

Pond5: prior to your 'silent experiment' we had sales. Now we don't. Please stop the experiment, stop promoting that big editorial enterprise contributor(that is not micro stock!) and start promoting the exclusives. You asked for exclusivity, we did our job - please do yours and bring sales to exclusives!

Exclusives are totally depending on you, they should be your first priority not something else, you should make sure they earn a minimum, decent wage.

I wonder what people at the offices of the new user Reuters say when they find out that 100% of their 869,253 clips are blocked.

i just checked from another pc and the cap here is 80$...the good news is that if the 4k price is higher than 80$ but the downsized hd is less than 80 it comes up in the search...
plus the web version is gone,so another example of one thing pond5 claimed to be very profitable from their test that resulted worthless...
gregp5 how can we trust a company that keep lying to us???

Hmmm...I just did a search without being logged in and the price filter slider was back up to $500+. There was also a note that said,"CLIPS FOR EVERY BUDGET - We've set your price filter! Adjust your slider for more results."

Maybe they are listening. Is anyone else seeing this?

EQCMProductions...you need to use another pc or tablet or smartphone to see the cap...even if you are not logged in they track your pc and they know it's you...they are trying to hide it from contributors, but hey,we are not stupid!!
Beckhusen 3 Aug 2019 18:51
Even if i am logged in and search for 4k footage the slider is set to $80 !!!
That's totally stupid !!!
sebolla74 3 Aug 2019 20:11
yes...if you filter for 4k you see only those lower that 80$..
i remember 2 years ago when pond5 said that few buyers used the price slider...now it's became the key to attract new buyers...go figure...
