Do these movements add to sales? In the tech spec Pond 5 says it prefers static shots as opposed to tile and pan?

I think it would add some more choices to the sales for sure. You never know what people want, but the "slide" is more popular in productions these days.

Those notes on Pond5 were written years ago when the site first started. Times change and so do what buyers want.

I think it depends on the shot. A slider can do wonders to a boring static shot.

Absolutely. Great way to add motion to static subjects. Beware of cheap friction based sliders, instead, choose a bearing based system. Worth the extra-money and hassle.
