"For the highest video quality, the camera can also output uncompressed 8-bit Full HD video during recording through the HDMI port. This enables you to use an outboard recorder to capture footage for rich detail and image fidelity."

Has anyone seen any full-rez video samples (available for download) from the D600?

I would suspect that the Nikon-promo-teasers at youtube were recorded from the HDMI output.
A clean HDMI out by Nikon may put some pressure to Canon to remove the overlays in their 7D, Mkii and Mkiii HDMI signals.

Seems the D600 doesn't have full manual in movie mode. I'm sure like when the 5D came out with the same problem that it will be fixed with a software upgrade but that is really a dumb move on Nikon to release that.

Disappointing. Clean HDMI and many other points were making it look like a great buy. It's just the aperture control again though, right?

Not sure, I just saw a post by Phillip Bloom that said he had a talk with Nikon about this issue.
But I would guess that is correct about the aperture control.
I'm sure it will be corrected, but when is the question.

Nikon don't have a great track record correcting things like that.

Mansurov's may have something about this.
