FTP - Curators Review - Artist Empowerment

After an artist has proven himself in a period of several thousand uploads, he should be free from the curator's review/approval process. This would lower manpower cost in P5. A proven artist would not mess-up his portfolio. FTP to Online in one single process. This would be fantastic for ENG pro-videographers and artist who need to comply with a buyer request asap. No need to hire more curators when you can certify old members with a proven quality and track record which could be spared from the review process. This would also accelerate the current approval process for newbies, amateur videographers and casual uploaders. Empower your senior pro-artist. You can audit their portfolio on a statistical sample method, no need for 100% quality inspection. IMO

That's actually not a bad idea. :) Perhaps we can bring this up to the guys at NAB.

I suggested this over a year ago directly to P5. I suggested that after $10,000 sales the clips go online immediately then the curators can do a check on them as they have time. We would have to agree that the curators could remove products that don't meet the standards. I guess one problem is the way P5 annotates editorial only use.

Make your suggestion again....this time they heard you with the full frontal nude issue...maybe this time they will take you seriously.

I know a couple of other sites that work that way... If an artist abuses the system even ONCE, they're off the instant online list.

Great recommendation. One day I can only hope my brain will achieve this level of ingenuity. My wife will tell you that I am far from it. :)

I'm on some photo stock sites that they trust me and the photos go up immediately. One agency does it as editorial until they review them and they then assign them to stay at editorial or go to commercial and also if they chose delete them if not approved. At least as editorial they are immediately for sale until the review is completed. Again this should be reserved for those artists that have proven their ability and quality.
