Pond5, is the Top Seller list legit?

I see so many of those el cheapo $25/HD $27/4k clips making Top Seller list. I wondered if they are making the list by number of times it has sold in one month or total sales revenue.

I did "salegt:x" search on the portfolio to find out how many times it has ever sold. Based on the search, the "Top Seller list" clip has only sold 1 time ever. How is that possible???

I'm so confused. This Pond5 monthly Top Seller list may be completely bogus.

I see Yuri Arcurs company peopleimages in there. High quality footage starting at 27 dollars hd.

It must be worth it for them, they have enough experience in stock sales.

Yuri is a veteran in this business and I love the work he and his team have done over the years. Currently i think the company is in Cape Town. In that case with a minimum wage in South Africa of 245$ month i believe its still profitable there to hire models for few dollars per day.

Yes, it's pretty much unprofitable doing this in developed top GDP countries.

Top Sellers List is now replaced by Curator Highlights.

I have 1 clip in that list thanks to Pond5. The clip has 1 sale ever in late January for regular $79/HD. I suspect the Top Sellers List in the past never really was a top sellers list but instead a curator picks. Now I don't need to wonder if those clips are really selling.

They don't want to show us what's really selling well because they don't want similar clips saturating the market. That's bad for Pond5. They need variety to increase their business. The same approach as we should be doing to expand our sales.
