"squeezed" HDV clip

I exported using the H.264 codec, retaining the HDV 1440x1080 pixel dimensions, and the resulting clip, unsurprisingly, appears in a 4x3 squeezed format.

Am I suppose to resize the clip in my editing program to the proper 16x9, or is this performed later by the web master? If the former, what are the smallest dimensions acceptable for posting?

Artits who shoot HDV usually stretch the clip to 1920x1080 and encode them with motion jpeg at some 90-95%, interlaced. Don´t go to 100%! Files are big, yes...

H.264 is a compressed codec and would only be ok for upload if it were the native codec of you files (like AVCHD, but nor for HDV which is mpeg2 encoded) and if P5 would already accept those files, what they are planning to do in the near future but not yet..

Good luck,
Stefan

Many thanks. I just uploaded my first clip per your suggestions, but very disappointed with the quality vis-a-vis others with similar data. A I seeing a low-res version that's later bumped up once this is curator-approved?
