This is a Vid of both the 5D and the FX1000. The first 19 seconds is the 5D with the Rode Video Mic attached. The ISO is ranging 500-1000 in this test.
The rest of the video is the FX1000 hand held. It is in Auto mode and as you see the FX1000 has a tendancy to overexpose. I have the zebra stripes set at 100% so it gave me plenty of warning but I ignored it. In this case I should have used the spotlight option or took the exposure down a couple of notches. I know I could have chose to go into manual mode but sometimes you just have to pick up the camera and shoot qnd the fastest way is to just place it in Auto.
Bonfire
In this next clip a box is placed on the bonfire and its completly covered. It goes almost pitch black. The ISO makes its way up to at least 6400. In the raw files I could see the noise near the bottom of the screen but once converted to Xvid its no longer that noticable.
5D Noise Test
Im starting to get used to the 5D now and its querks. Once I get a nice Pro zoom lens I think it will be better balanced and easyer to manual focus.

Good, It looked like the flames were getting to close to the house.
Cool video though.
Can you do a manual white balance in video mode?
