GoPro 4 to have manual controls :-)

The 3+ black has 240 fps............not everyone wants to shoot 4K at the moment. I believe the battery from the 3 won't fit the 4.

I'm very pleased with this camera. smaller battery charges faster, easier controls, wifi not as solid as with the 3+, cuts in and out sometimes when using with iphone6 plus. oh, also live view when recording in any mode.

How's the video quality???? Mine's coming Tuesday, I think. (I can't play the 4K due to stupid new youtube and slow internet)

I've never shot with any other 4k device but from other opionions it's pretty sweet. you'll need to get the fastest cards like sandisk ultra plus, the regular extreme stops recording 4k after about a minute but the plus handles it without stopping.

I got a few frames to show, and it looks really good. Just saw the 1080 crop video, and that looks killer, so hopefully I'll get the same mileage out of mountains and trees as you do with highrises and palms...!

I ordered the Lexar 633x SDXC card with the Hero4 - as it was recommended. Hope it works.

In the manual GoPro sez 4K mode best used on tripod. In the real world I find the image looks pretty good, yes, but not if the thing is dangling from a small quad in gusty wind shooting cliff with lots of trees/branches craggy rocks, waterfall, etc. Yikes, the compression is GHASTLY. Just in time for Halloween. You want artifacts? Bleah. But it's certainly useable when not severely challenged. Either that or just don't look too close. By too close I mean 100%. Probably a lot better with smooth motion, little detail, primary colors, etc. Just not trees or fur.

Makes pretty decent HD though. However, the RX100m3 resolves better detail in HD than the Hero4 4K. Go figure.

The new menu is pretty cool too. Startup a bit slower though.
