Connecting 5DII to AC

Is it true that the Canon 5DII connects to the AC only via the grip? Thanks.

Yes, I read this line. Practically it means that I need to invest additional $500 to connect the camera to the wall!

It seems to be a bad design, as A/C connection during video is quite normal.
I do it with my Canon HV 30 especially when I'm filming wildlife subjects, like the hummingbirds.
