We're a new customer and recently purchased 4 clips. After downloading the clips they won't play and we get a CODEC error. It seems the clips were originally PAL and converted to MPEG4/ .MOV - We've never had a problem with .MOV before and use CS4 PPro. What's the trick?

Hello,
I'm producer (not a buyer) but had simlar problems when was using the Quicktime Alternative - there are so many versions of it. Some .mov clips could be opened in AE CS4 and others could not. All problems dissapeared when I installed the QuickTime MPEG-2 Playback Component.
May be this helps,
Zygis

Hi,
Sometimes Adobe CS4 can be funny with the version of Quicktime used to make the clip and play back. Check that your QT Version is updated. If this fails get on to P5 or the seller to see if another codec version is available.

Hi Railtrac
The files you are referring to were uploaded in mpeg2, which is a great high-quality container but do not jive with every system. If you ever have similar issues, simply send us an email at (contact-at-pond5.com) and we can run a conversion for you.
Thanks!
