Low views on music portfolio - any helpful criticism?

Arbre 15 Jun 2018 16:40
Any helpful crits on my portfolio? I've got around fifty items now, about half of them have no views at all, most of the rest have only one.
Do I just need to give this time, and add more tracks, or am I not going to make any sales around here?

I've had very low views as well. I have 180 tracks, some since January without views.
One critique I could offer on your tracks is that the sub frequencies are somewhat out of control; you should highpass up a bit of that, or at least limit it a bit.
Good luck!

What I do is to go and listen to the top sellers on Audio Jungle and compare their tracks to your own and be honest. It is easier to find the top tracks there. The top selling tracks have many common attributes (song structure, sound etc.) Off hand I would say your sounds need updating. I am working on these things as well. Good luck.

The point is not about the quality, but the views. The quality should come into play only when one has a lot of views but no sales.

This should be looked at from a keyword perspective - are your listing optimized well enough to appear in search when someone types a keyword that relates to your music?

I think views correlate to the number of click-throughs to your track. Simply pressing play on your track from the search results doesn't grant a view (though I could be wrong).

Cart Adds have not been working for 2 years now so it could mean that the view counting is also not working.

What everyone has written here is pertinent. I also think that the music market is flooded these days. I don't average half the sales I did a few years ago and yet my production techniques have improved. I have suggested to Pond5 many times that they should promote the music aspect of this site more. I get a lot more emails the promote the visual aspects of Pond5. Also, it still says 'Footage Requests' rather than Media Requests - which is an indication as to where Pond5's focus is. But I still like Pond5 and get the occasional sale here.

Your music is great! Mr. Arbre, but I guess some of them sound like early eighties. On the other hand I suggest to focus more on advertising, more audience must see the vocation of your tracks, I mean the soul of them for them to be useful.
