Artist online indicator and chat

What is the possibility of making it possible to see who is logged in in and online with P5? Maybe a side banner or easier a color change for the artists who are on line. A side banner (selectable) would be great, this would allow us all to communicate easier and faster. Maybe an IM type system that when we click on an artist, a message would flash on the receivers page asking if they would like to chat? Much easier than PM or e-mail for a quick get-together. Ya I like that, a built-in chat between artists.
