Redundance in the www <-> db

There was a few hours downtime this morning. The problem was that the dedicated network between the database and www was broken.

We'll add fallback to the slower public network should the primary act up again, and also fix reasonable gadgets to notify us IRL on error.

Thanks for the update Marcus... I was curious about what happened.

Until the Android 2.2 monitor app is up & running I wanted the site to SMS us on error and after wading through sites with SMS bulk spam deals I noticed that our own ISP has its own solution at http://pingability.com/.

Now we have one page that is polled by Pingability that does general checks and they will SMS, email or call us on error. All at ten bucks per month.

Very nice...

What about the upload issue? It no longer takes you to the main upload page after you submit. There's an extra step.

Any idea on the delay time between upload and us being able to tag and send for review?
