Lower case versus capital

It appears that the system accepts and treats the same word i.e. "House" and "house" as two separate keywords. Is that right. Hope not, capitals should not be a factor in keywords. The keywording accepts both versions and counts them separately.

Don it doesn't seem to make any difference if you use upper or lower case. If you type in "HOUSE", "House" or "house" and in the search box just check HD they all come back with the same 29,709 clips

Just to know, what happens if you type in "drill, drilling, drilled, driller" or "home, homes,". How does the math sort those out?

If the search is the same I wonder why the Keyword input accepts "Home" and "home" as two different words and counts them as two different words?

The outcome looks pretty much the same, which is some good information and you can deduce from it. From a key-wording economy vantage, I want to know at what level of suffixes does it not become useful and is redundant. Does the engine add "ing" and "ed" and pluralize nouns? I still don't know that and have wondered about it for a couple years now.

Seems like the search engine doesn't differentiate between upper or lower case.

I seem to remember Marcus mentioning that the search engine doesn't differentiate between plurals etc so "home" and "homes" for instance are recognised as just one keyword.

Makes sense.

Several years ago we were told by P5 that the system automatically does plurals, adds "s" to all words. With the changes I don't have any idea if that still stands. When the correct plural is "es" that may not be the same. I don't remember ever hearing anything about "ing" or "ed".

Maybe P5 could let us know.
