I was going to but that Blackmagic got in the way.
Still may get one to replace my MKII but not for a while.
Can't wait to see some video from yours. Post some when you get to do some tests.

I'm really considering keeping the Mk II and selling the 7D. I think the Blackmagic might be just what you need with the studio work you do. I know having the cropped sensor of the 7D is handy but I'm more interested in the quality of the photos and videos than the telephoto reach. I have a 400 mm lens for reaching out as well as a 2x converter. I'm sure the low light will be a big plus.

I think that for many people the MKIII is the way to go if they get income from both pictures and video plus the fact that it is weatherproof. (I keep loosing cameras to bad weather and salt spray). But the more I read about that Blackmagic Camera the more I see that many stock artist are going to drop their EX1s, EX3s, Red's and switch to Blackmagic just for the color dynamic range it offers and that no nano flash unit is required. With the software included that camera is practically been sold for $1,500 . Obviously the first buyers are prone to have camera trouble since it is a new camera and a new manufactured product. But those living in USA will not have big problems if such an event arises during market product introduction. I expect the order backlog to be great with that Cinema Camera.
In my particular case, I still see Blackmagic as an "indoor" camera that needs to be protected against weather and heavy vibrations even though it has a strong aluminum chassis. For the work I do, the MKIII would be the best tool. (Wish it had a tilt screen)
Anyway there is no way you can go wrong buying either of them.

I was thinking.....when I changed from SD to HD, I had to go back to re-shoot what I shot in SD. If I go to 2.5k then I have to back to 0 and start again... ;-p

buyers are still buying SD although I believe that market is starting to slow. Is it slowing because there is more HD available or SD just doesn't meet the need. It will be a long time before 2.5k becomes the new HD and HD sales slow.

few weeks ago we bought MK III and we love it, most important is no moire and full frame so i can use my 50mm lens without crop factor.
I thought i will be still shoting with my old 7D, but right now i will be selling it as soon as possible, i`m not interested in Blackmagic i think that my next camera will be sony FS 700.
And in my portfolio, the newest clips are from MK III.
