just a question about the sort order!

The actual default algorithm seems somewhat puzzeling?
Is it standard practice that no matter how relevant material one uploads, it ends up on last pages in the Default search?

I am asking because the Default is the important one, very few buyers, browsing use the alternatives in the rolldown lists.

thanks beforehand.

The "default" view has been screwed up for months.

Thanks! oh well so what sort of search method isnt screwed up? I mean how can the buyers find anything if the search is messed up.

Glad to know this before I upload a couple of thousand higly nieched images.

Upload them anyway and forget the relevance of the search for now.

Default isn't screwed up but it has changed to give other artist a chance.
Most of the big earners don't like this default setting.
This new default search shows some new footage from relatively new artists

My own "default" view is never consistent anymore. Not sure why favoring new artists(if that indeed is the case) would cause my own default view to change hourly.

Wheijnen! I am talking stills pictures here, not video, btw. Thanks for your explanation. Fair enough but then I am uploading images that all in all have over half a million DLs, some 3K pictures, thats a lot of uploading and work.
To me stock-photography is business. Giving noobs or whatever a fair chance, sure but not on others behalf, thats wrong.
When the search is sorted out, then I will continue uploading, not before.

Forget about the default settings as most people do not search just by those settings they do use keywords. You have good work and it will be noticed. Or did you expect a sale your first month online with over 1 million photos already up.

I think the search is fine. It changes default results frequently so the same stuff doesn't come up every time. If anything people switch to # of sales after that, which puts new stuff way in the back and would just make you worse off. With millions of items, each clip would be more than dificult to rate, and would be very subjective to do so.

Hi jason! now dont be a silly billy, ha, ha. ofcourse I dont expect sales the first minute, Im a bit more experienced then that. I pretty much know the search-words, CV, etc for my type of work. Take Nuclear-power industry, the obvious keyword would be Nuclear, wouldnt it?
Just that many of us have gone through all this with another big agency( no names) and it all ended in catastrophy, bit of a deja-vu here.

best.
