Please recommend a barebone video editing software

My video editing software is not working after I deleted an old GoPro folder. I suspect that some important elements are missing.
I can edit in GoPro Player, but I don't know how to color-grade and export them as mov files.
Would you please recommend a simple software which can do trimming, color grading, and mov exporting? My currently computer does not have a lot of space. I will try to buy another computer later.
Thanks!

You should really try out Davinci Resolve. They have a free version. And this program is simple once you know what you are doing, but there are so many advanced things with it too. There are tons of tutorials out there to help you out. It would be hard to beat!

I second the free version of Resolve. It can be overwhelming if you try to learn too much, just figure out exactly what you need to do your project and practice only that

A great idea! I am also thinking about Davinci. I will definitely try the free version first.
My concern is, how big is the software? My current computer is running out of the hard disk space.
Many thanks to both of you!

I also second (third) Davinci Resolve. Great tutorials abound, and if you wish I have a super simple starter series I made for a friend. Email me (mizamook) and I'll set you up with that.
Your statement about hard drive space suggests poor management ... you don't have media on your system drive do you? If so, you NEED to remove it, and use the system drive for, well, the system/programs and related files. All media should be stored/accessed/backed up on external drives, preferably SSD's for the working drives, spinning discs for backups. Resolve is fairly large, and also wants drive space (again preferably on external drives) for cache files and such. But it will work if you have space just on your system drive.

Almost forgot to mention the rationale. I used this and it made sense for my friend, who wanted only the most basic functions (he was not a video or photo guy at all, but had a concept for a channel) ... I convinced him to use Resolve because the free version is very very functional, and many people never need more, learning Resolve, despite it having way more functionality than you might need right now ... you won't need to re-learn something when you are ready to grow, whereas some of the simpler more basic editors will basically slow you down and stop you when you need to do more (and you will!) so why not start with something that is pro? And if you do need to upgrade to the full version it's a one-time $295. No stinky subscription.

I second VSDC (the videosoftdev link). Desktop version is Windows only, but the free version definitely trims, and exports mov, and I think the new-ish color grading tools are free too (I'm a few versions behind). Space wise, I think it's light for what it can do.

Thanks all for the help.
I have tried Resolve, but haven't figured it out yet.
I need a new computer and do not wish to spend too much on a complicated and expensive software. I am suspicious of freeware because there might be a catch somewhere.
Have you got an opinion on Cyberlink PhotoDirector 365? It seems to have good reviews.
