Step up rings

I'm wanting to use a 58mm ND filter on my Canon 50mm 1.8 lens. I'm looking into these step up rings by Fotodiox on amazon, are these what I need?

Yes. You want a step up ring 52-58mm which you are looking at. B&H carries them for 4.50 and up.

Great thanks Jason!

be aware that these type of devices can interfere with certain camera functions that might be positioned near your lens, such as a light meter, remote control infra-red receiver, etc.

Gee David it's nice to know how informed you are about camera gear next time before I purchase any new camera gear I'll ask you first.

By the way don't delete your post as I copied it.

if you have any additional questions Jason, please ask and I will educate you further.

also check if your camera has a setting called "Conversion Lens". if it does, it is the setting to turn on when you attach an oversized lens to your camera.

Just so everyone knows, Jason is mocking me because he (and a large group of other videographers) are mad because I sell videos for less money than they do. So they pursue all opportunities to mock me or attack me anytime I post anything in the forums.

You will note that the original post is about using an oversized lens, and Jason is trying to change the conversion to steer it to something that he can use to mock me, and eventually the others will join him.

You sure have an inferiority complex David. No one is mocking you because of the way you chosen to price your clips. The original post had nothing to do with an oversized lens but with using 58mm ND filter on a 52mm lens and to do so would require a step down ring. So don't make comments unless you know all the facts. In other words close your damn pie hole.
