FTP issues

Is anyone else having FTP issues with the site?
I normally use CuteFTP v6 and for some reason it does not recognize when a file is finished uploading. The site seems to move it before CuteFTP can figure out what is going on.
I tried WS_FTP and it has the exact same problem.
I even tried using the command line FTP and it too does not recognize when a file has completed uploading.

Hi!
No problems to upload from Finland. I uploaded some 20 clips during last night and all of them were processed as usual.
I use the FileZilla - the best FTP client for Windows.

No "real" issues with WS_FTP. I do get the odd "unable to process" though. Approximately one file in 20 simply doesn't process. When I re-upload it usually works.

Have you ever tried FileZilla? Go to filezilla.sourceforge.net and download it. It's easy to use.

Just a short technical explanation. On Pond5 you can upload using either a java applet or using ftp. This concerns "copying the file to Pond5".
When the file is on Pond5 it is being processed by a preprocessing program that makes previews, thumbnails, and probes basic file information. This program is the same for both the ftp and http/java case.
We therefore need to put the files "on the same queue" regardless of if they originate from ftp or http/java. In the ftp case this is taken care of a trigger in the ftp program that moves the file immediately after upload. When a ftp program has uploaded a file it usually does a list to update the file list and some ftp client programs get confused when they don't see the new file and complains. Filezilla don't complain so it is one of the programs we recommend.
Agreed, we could make the file visible for a short period or something, but all these workaround fixes usually comes back and haunt you one way or the other so we prefer to avoid them.
I hope this explains the situation.
Best regards,
Marcus

On FTP2/3 there is a queue. I uploaded to FTP and it went through very quickly.

ftp screwed up?
I uploaded to ftp2 a few hours ago and nothing has showed up yet. says there are 47 in line, but that seems really low.
