hmm There are some artists how have three ... five star votes on all their clips.... HMMMM. Meaning 3 votes for 5 stars.
I think star ratings should be disabled for user who have less than 100 clips, or for users who are unverified (no credit card)>

If stars are used for search priority it's too easy to "fix" priority. No need for them and especially if sellers or friends can input the stars. I'm not sure votes mean anything, I have no votes on any top sellers.
P5 what is the purpose of votes and stars?

Ratings by users should have NO bearing on search results. It's too easily gamed.
If anything, "real" ratings should be done by the curator and not seen by the public. Those curator rankings should be the rankings used in search results.

While we don't want to give too much away when talking about the "secret sauce" algorithms that determine things like search order ranking, I can say that anybody who's trying to game the search order results by rating their own clips highly is wasting their time. It would be much better spent shooting new clips and improving their technique.

Almost nobody rates anything, why even have a ratings system?
Also, if you are going to allow ratings, at least limit it to only allowing ratings to buyers who rate clips they've purchased.

That is how it was suppose to work. In fact there was a post on the subject some time ago.
