Received our GH4 yesterday. Just in time for a studio medical shoot today.
I'm planning on only using the GH4 for crane or dolly shots. The rest will be the C300

cinecameratv, you are so right. 4 in 1. But you are also forgetting SD and 720p. with all those flavors

Here are a couple of videos from the GH4 yesterday.
They were shot using a Canon 28mm 1.8 using that EF to M43 mount with the build in iris.
A note on that adapter, it works great with primes but not zooms. All the zooms I tested had some or a lot of vignetting.

This one was shot a 96fps 1080

And one of the 4K videos

That slow-mo at 96 fps is recorded at 200mbs? The GH3 takes it down to 24p / 24 mbs.
JHDT_Productions 4 May 2014 15:18
No it records slow motion at 100mbps
You can do 30p 1080 at 200
cinecameratv 4 May 2014 15:49
96fps @ 100mbs !!! wow !!!

They look nice.
Did you do much post or did you set it up to shoot like that in-camera?
I know it's early days; but as you are experienced in using a few different cameras - what is your early verdict and what would you say if it had to be your only camera?
Cheers.

I use the Cinelike-C profile. It looks pretty flat so I had to do some saturation and contrast in Post. I shoot flat with my other cameras so I'm used to that workflow.
If this was my only camera I wouldn't have a problem shooting with it at all. Out of the camera the video looks great.
I shot at 800 iso the entire time and I don't see any noticeable noise that I would have to use reduction in post for.

But I can't wait for the Shogun external recorder to be released.
To get 4.2.2 10bit footage from this little camera will be incredible.

I cant' find Cinelike -C on my GH4. Did you mean Cinelike-D or Cinelike-V?
JHDT_Productions 5 May 2014 02:54
Sorry, typo.
Cinelike-D
