I turn on the guided lines for 16:9 so I can see what you will get if cropped and don't put anything important out there

Good to hear OverheadProductions.
Don - I'm currently using Edius 5 and it's worked extremely well for me, especially in the field churning out raw footage for news quickly. I'll admit it's slightly daunting facing completely new format and work flow, especially when the definitions of 4k vary too!
This may sound like a basic question, but what would be the main benefits of shooting 60p over regular 30p? Easier to work with in post, doing slow mo etc?
James.

Great to know James. I would guess slow motion to help smooth any slight movement would be reason for 60 fps.

Glad Edius is working for you James, I've used it for a few years now as a stand alone system and for studio broadcast and it is very reliable

Relax people, two years ago, I was in a meeting with a BBC guy who stated the future of UHD by 2020 would result in a broadcast standard of 8k (16 times the resolution of HDTV) 22:9 (more letter box to allow on screen controls) with Dolby 22.2 surround sound. All video will be recorded in 3d or hologram with the option to switch off at the consumer end. The times they keep a changin

I shoot in 60p but deliver in 29.97. 60p is great for slomo.

So how do you buy an 8k holographic camera? Are we going to have a Treky holodeck in every house?

Thanks for the replies guys - I think I'll switch between 30p / 60p as and when circumstances suite. Pick up the Z100 on Tuesday!
