There is a firmware update for the GH4 available http://panasonic.jp/support/global/cs/dsc/download/fts/index2.html

According to the page the only change is "Improved the reliability of video recording performance." That isn't vague at all.

One problem I have had with my GH4 is that when I have my tripod plate attached, it interferes with the flip out screen and changing lenses. There isn't enough room between the bottom of the camera and the screen/lenses.

I bought a cheap $70 GH3 battery grip on eBay and I'm happy to report that it works with the GH4. And, of course, it moves the tripod plate far away from both the screen and door. Although, it's offset and not in the middle of the grip which is a little bit a of PITA.

If adjustable move the camera to the rear of the mounting plate and just about 1/4" more and you can easily open it.. Works fine with my 501PL plate.

My plate sticks out the front and back (it's very large). And with the battery grip, it's no longer a problem.

But thanks.

Can someone suggest which camera is better in low light, the GH4 with "average" lenses, or the AX100?
JHDT_Productions 30 Jul 2014 13:55
I don't have the AX100 so can't comment on that but the GH4 does well in low light. I shot this at 800iso

I do stay away from 1600.
