A rejected clip is, for sure, the only one that will never be sold.

Look at Artist resources, $500 clips sell a lot every week. If you want to be on the list as best sellers you almost need to price your clips at several hundred dollars.

Yes I recently posted a clip I shot of a girl in a church which on another site sold a lot. It was rejected by the curators because it was an SD anamorphic shot. I told Lawrence and he went back and looked at it and approved it Of course it was the very next shot that I sold. Now I sent some new 4K footage perfect exposure everything is technically good and the shots were turned down anyways. Trying to get this overturned.

Well after near flawless reviews my turn has come and now I got a near 100% rejection except for one file and the video was soft and I bumped the tripod slightly.
Guess I can't really complain, got 33,000 files up before they changed the rules and now I have to work hard as hell to get everything up on other sites and get the new stuff up on the other sites as well.
Can only assume the real reason for the rejections is costs, it costs them money to store all this data so at some point the library is full and that's that. They say they have upped their standards as the official reason but we all know that a lot of stuff was selling that today would never get accepted. In one reviewers note I was told that unless the video makes the reviewer stop and say "wow" chances are it won't be accepted anymore here.
Have to work with what I have on the site and try and get that stuff selling.

I sent an email to support inquiring about a mass rejection of submitted clips about a month and a half ago, and didn't receive any response.
A couple days ago, this clip was rejected along with a couple unrelated ones with the message:
"Sorry, we could not accept these clips. At this point, the clips with this topic that have a greater chance of acceptance on the site are both unusual and high-quality. The best way to tell whether or not your clip has a good chance of getting rejected would be to do a search on our site for what you're thinking of creating before you put in the time to make it, and see how many results come up. If it's something that has 100+ very similar results, then chances are we're not currently looking for more unless they're something we haven't seen before or something that will make us say "wow"Thanks again for submitting, and we look forward to seeing more of your work."
I searched for 'Portland City Flag' on Pond5, two mediocre animations came up, mostly shots taken in Portland that had flags in it. The only actual live action footage up that contains the City of Portland's flag are wide shots of locations, and from a Soccer game with fans waving it around. Oh, and only 40 results.
Not sure what Pond5 wants from contributors...

@davidkrug I think the library is full and they want us to go away but haven't quite posted the message "sorry we are closed to new submissions for the time being". I mean checking for more than 100+ similars is fair but in you case you found very few and it didn't make the cut. One the issue of very high quality, no one has really defined that here yet, camera specs, lens specs, codecs, shooting style, nothing's really been mentioned by P5 staff so it's kinda hard to know but it's a lot of work and expense only to find out the hard way.

David, I think they hit the wrong excuse button. Don't take my comment as negative please. It is handheld and moves up and down on the flag pole. It's just not steady or a consistent pan or tilt. I know you have better clips, this one probably was just under the line on quality. The subject is fine. This single rejection was probably warranted. Good luck.

I just had another batch 100% rejected, it was a running/marathon type event, seems that there is a new rule here, no sports of any kind allowed. I thought there was some discussion earlier about big name sporting events not being allowed but smaller community events? runs, walks, fitness? guess it's a no-go now. I am sure they announced it but I missed the memo. A couple other sites still allow but I guess not here anymore.
Curator comments:
Thanks for the upload but we have decided not to include this clip as part of our collection. Pond5 does not accept any sporting event. Please let us know if you have any questions.

Follow up to my last post: A quick search for "sports" turns up hundreds of files here, I guess they changed the rules meaning no further sporting event video will be accepted.
