no no don't downsize to web size for sale here. SS does it and it's a real heart breaker to make $2.50 when they sell. Buyers that are smart will spend a little more and get the full size version and they then can make it any size they want. I know ... a dead horse ;). I do like the idea of storing the clips in m2t and then giving the buyer the option of actually downloading in a format they want. Again, unless all agencies do it, MJPEG is best for standardization across the industry.

@ webclipmaker: Don´t worry. Who needs "englisch"??? Just drink beer, talk german, and maybe translate later :-)....Cheers,S.

Don't offer websizes, there is a program that takes small res files and it can upres them to HD. It calculates which areas should be blurry or sharpened. And it does a good job.

Offering the web size thing is a bad idea on so many levels. At least not a different price.

I dont want to cater to buyers who don't know how to down res HD to SD or web size anyway.

I think they should offer the ability for buyers to downsize any clip they purchase. However, they should have to purchase at full price. But a "file manager" page where buyers can re-encode and resize clips would make P5 much more valuable to buyers, in my opinion.

Oh yeah I agree about that part, maybe a buyer would want to cut out parts of a clip before downloading it, that would save the buyers time.

Not sure if you're aware, but you can upload h.264 in a mov wrapper and pond5 will process it.

heres my 12 mb, one minute h.264 test:

I can easily see banding in the sky in the hi res preview. Try better quality. Maybe this artifact comes from the FLV, but you might want to work out a solution.

yeah i am, that was just a test clip to see if pond5 would even take h.264. im definately not happy with the results

it was definately better than the conversion file from .h264 over to motion jpeg b or anything else though. those had much much much worse banding in the sky and the file size was 120mb....

i think staying native is the key...but i'm going to try an intermediate workflow where i convert to .avi and then edit in premiere, then convert to motion jpeg b or something. going directly from h264 to something else looked terrible and ruined the file size.

the stream looks fantastic, so my goal is obviously to get as close to that i can

will keep processing my notes on the forum for anyone who is recording avchd on a new canon like me.
