Here's the GoPro HD 4 Rumor. Still don't believe footage meets a quality standard unless it's used for action type stuff. I think a lot of people will get it and make it their normal 4K camera ... hope that doesn't happen. It has it's use ... action stuff only.

Didn't say frame rates for 4k.

South Korea going 4K
http://www.cedmagazine.com/news/2014/04/4k-goes-live-in-south-korea

They sure have made advances since I was stationed in Kunsan for a year in 1980. At that time the entire country was definitely backwoods third country. Now they are a power house, high tech and cutting edge. I swore I would never buy a Korean made car and now I have a new Sonata and love it. Move over world, South Korea is taking the lead.

So .... for the benefit of us who could not go to NAB what was the end overall conclusion for the 4k market?

a. Wait for more mature cameras that will be available in 2014?
b. Go for the BMCC 4k?
c. GH4 has sufficiently evolved to justify its purchase?
d. Not enough demand for 4k at this time?
e. Don't go 4k unless you can buy a $10k+ systems?
f. Too many bugs to go 4k at this time?

My thoughts are don't wait and get what you can afford now.

I pre-ordered the GH4 and when the Atomos Shogun comes out in August I'll order that as well.
That will give you 4K 4.2.2 10 bit prores to a total package of around $3700

BMC isn't in my sights anymore. I'm done with them. The 4K production camera is just now shipping in quantity but still has many issues.
400ISO is max unless you want banding. This is an absolute killer for me, even in our studio I have my C300 at 1000ISO so I don't have to light the place like the surface of the sun.
Black spots in bright lights.
No in camera card formating.

So when this new URSA comes out next year if BMC is up on the same track record I'm sure it will also have issues.

As some point, maybe at the end of the year or early next year. I'll go to a RED. Maybe Scarlet.
May sell the C300 at that point, not sure about that yet.

I have the GH4 on order and I have seen the software hack to give 10 bit 4.4.4 2K ProRes internal recording down sampled from 4k if you need that without an external recorder. I agree if you can afford it jump on 4K now, waiting will only bring other cameras with shortcomings the GH4 looks like the best option hands down for the price.

Hey Jake have ya found a good work-a-round for GH4 lens? A converter for all the Canon L lenses that we have.

I'm thinking about the Red Rock Micro live lens.
http://store.redrockmicro.com/livelensmft
Which is expensive at $600

Or an adaptor like the Bower which has internal iris adjustment.
From what I read it works ok with primes but not so much for zooms.
But it's inexpensive at about $100 or so.

Or this one that Phillip Bloom tested.
http://philipbloom.net/2010/12/17/ne-adaptor-for-using-you-canon-eos-lenses-on-gh1-gh2-af101/

EDIT:
After doing more research I'm going with the RedRock Micro Live lens adapter.
The cheaper adapters have some issues with vignetting and has a max of about F1.7
Which I would be losing some on my 1.4 lens.
I know that would be a trivial amount but I want it.
Actually the vignetting is the killer for me. I don't want any of that.
