hehe where did you pick one up at?

Let me know how you like it :-) and what the codec is like.

Best Buy in Salt Lake City had one. I even talked the price down by $100. Got two 32 GB card (95 mb/s) SanDisk Extreme Pro SDHC cards so they should be more than fast enough.

Sounds great Don, looking forward to your thoughts on the camera!

Remember that most subjects don't need 4K and the upload time, hard disk storage and other related costs just don't justify 4K for all subjects. For me going from HD to 4K results in more than 4 times the time to render and save and ftp upload goes from 30 minutes to a couple hours or more.

Help me learn something about preparing a 4k upload. Does it sound right that a 13 second video recorded on the GH4 in .mov 4k 100Mbps with a file size of 137 MB once converted using Mpeg Streamclip to photo jpeg at 90% quality turn out as a 916 MB file? Is this the best process or am I doing something wrong.

Yup, a 20-30 second 4K clip can easily be between 1.5 to 4 MB. That is why all submitted clips don't need to be 4K, HD still has a lot of life, many years. 4K is in it's infancy.

Interesting to see that most 4k conversations from "experts" are more directed to the fact that 4k cameras will produce outstanding HD footage and effects that where not possible like diminishing noise, decreasing the need for big telephoto lenses, no moire, more sharpness, lees color banding, panning and zooming withing a scene, etc. In a nutshell, better HD videos.

Just curious what frame rate most of you are shooting 4K/UHD at - 23.98, 24, 29.97?

29.97

Reviewing full frame captures from AX-100 and GH4. The AX-100 lacks nothing as far as sharp, contrast, vibrancy etc. Both look like good choices. I've been a dslr footage shooter for many years but I do see an advantage of a "video" camera for video and a dslr for photo. Both can shoot video and quality photos but they are definitely tuned for their primary purpose.
