DRONE STUFF

Huh .. like my first experience with my Walkera ... I armed the motors while inside, and it launched and hurled itself into a wall. No, not reliable. Had the same situation as you with having to do things in a certain order. Never made sense.

I'm really hoping the ProDrone Byrd pans out ... or something like it ... I love the idea of having a truly portable solution that can still lift a decent camera. Hiking to destination then deploying, while still being able to carry tripod and other cams, etc. I'd accept the caveats even then ... the likely bad codec and props in shot ... that's one thing the Matrix and the Inspire both can do: Look straight forward level in fast forward flight, and, when slower, or reversing, look UP. Yes, looking up is important even for aerials. Example here (also example of why 400' is a joke in this situation ... I AM way less than 400' AGL, but more like 1200' above transmitter. But the robot brain doesn't know that ... )

I'll let you guys with bigger balls than I do have the fun flying drones.
Too much drama for me.

The only drone footage I have is some that I bought the rights to from a guy that said the footage is just taking up space on his hard drive.
That was the best $100 I ever spent as they keep selling.

I have the Phantom 2 plus, every time I fly it I need a defibrillator standing by, really scary stuff, my best selling clips were from my first outing and I had to press the return to home function as I got turned around. I had visions of crash and burning and trying to get a speedy escape. Luckily the tech worked and I still have a working drone (quadcopter), still scary stuff.

Phantom 4 has shipped. Two days and I will have it in my hands. Can't wait to see what it can do.

GoPro has really screwed themselves by waiting for so long. Allot of people will upgrade to the Phantom4 and not be ready to go back to GoPro.

Any specs on the DJI 4K drone camera as far as bit rate?
Airisto 18 Mar 2016 07:52
It seems to be max 60 Mbps, FOV 94° 20mm, f2,8. Well, you can not get any more bitrate for this price...

Took her out for the first flight today. Love it! This thing is so easy to fly. DJI has done a fantastic job. No more hauling out defibrillators anytime you want to fly your quad.
