Well, there is one thing this camera has that so far no other mfg is offering:

Plus the specs overall are pretty darn good. The downside is if you already own lots of glass for sat Canon, it might get pretty expensive. ;(

Philip Bloom has groupies?
I don't understand why Philip Bloom is so popular, I personally don't view him as an authority on the subject. More like a casual commentator.
That 3d thing is pretty cool, technology always gets cheaper. Most DSLRs are overkill for broadcast/ movie quality. 28 days later was shot on a used canon xl2. Of course some 'experts' online think you need 35k and HDR/infrared/xray vision to make a movie good.
