Adding files to New Collection

purplevideos 19 Mar 2020 15:12
Is it just me, or are collections really confusing to create and add/removes files?

I've tried adding files to New collection by ticking the box on the uploads page, then going down to Actions and clicking on Add to collection. The problem is I can't choose which collection they go in, so they have gone in an older one!

Can anyone advise me?
And also, how do you remove files from a collection?

It doesn't seem to be simple at all. Thanks

Hey purplevideos,

Thanks for writing in. When you add items to the collection on the uploads page, it defaults to whichever collection is selected when you're on search results or item pages (this is not ideal and thank you for pointing this out--I will send this over to our team). You can tell which one is selected by clicking the arrow on the right side of the page and expanding the collections bar.

The best page for adding items to the collections is your artist page, which in your case is https://www.pond5.com/artist/purplevideos. From there you can search/sort through your footage, create/add/remove collections on the right, and add/remove clips from each collection with the buttons on the thumbnails.

Here's a link to more information about collections: https://help.pond5.com/hc/en-us/articles/211589463-What-are-Collections-

As always, if you need anything else, please don't hesitate to email support@pond5.com!

Cheers,

Hi,
in upload page tool for add clip in collection is missing! Can anyone advise me?
Thanks

Hey underwaterfootage4K,

I have logged into your account and I can see the "add to collection" option in the "actions" menu at the bottom of the page. If you're not seeing the collections bar on the right-hand side of the page, however, then you'll need to go to your artist page here:https://www.pond5.com/artist/underwaterfootage4k#1/2063

Then select the collection you want to make active, and go back to the uploads page and use the "add to collection" option in the actions menu. This is the work-around to this, currently.

We've notified the team about this issue, and although there is no completion date at this time, please know our team is aware of and working on it.

If you need anything else, please email us at support@pond5.com.

Thanks!

ryan, The option to add to a collection is there but we used to be able to select a collection from the my uploads page. That isn't there any longer. So how do we select clips and put them in a certain collection?
Ryan 7 Apr 2020 15:19
Hey JHDT_Productions,

Unfortunately the only way to get files into a collection is by going to a page where the collections bar is visible, selecting the collection you want to make active, then going back to your uploads page and clicking "add to collection." It will then send the files to the collection you selected on the other page.

Another good option is to go to your artist page https://www.pond5.com/artist/jhdt_productions and move items into collections that way. You can search and sort on that page to narrow it down, then click the "add to collection" icon on each thumbnail.

I've passed this note on to the team so they can take a look. Thanks for understanding, and let us know at support@pond5.com if you need anything else.
