MTS to HDMOV

I'm really stuck on this one and not sure how can resolve it.
I have a Sony CX550v camera and a bucket of MTS files I'm trying to convert to HD mov as most stock agencies require.
I tried several apps (on windows 7) and video converters but nothing works so far. Few days back I got PowerDirector 9 which says works very well and fast on conversions and video editing. I used it before but bot on HD video. PD9 is able to open the mts video, I can edit video but when it comes to produce HD mov app crashes.
Module where is crashing: quicktimeh264.qtx

No patch so far... any ideas?

Thanks,

Robert

In simple terms and you are not going to like it, consumer apps are not the way to go for this type of process. You are experiencing the exact reason why. No support, no help and most likely you won't find many here that have any knowledge of such lower end products. The time you will spend wasting trying to figure it out will simply cost you more than getting a product from known companies such as Adobe or Sony. Sony does offer a consumer level product that has many features of the pro level (Sony Vegas) - At least there, you can also get support for the product and since you are using a Sony cam - it will be fully supported.

So buying final cut pro, which requires a Mac, is your solution to a very simple problem. When all he needs do is purchase a good editing software for his PC.

Can't the free stuff out there handle the mts files? I think streamclip can.

Clipwrap works great for me with MTS files
