Jason, I know both EX1, EX3 and I wish I had "at least" EX1, but go and see http://www.red.com . Perhaps Epic or One is to much for stock, but Scarlett fits good. Speaking on what is available right now: Red One beats them all! :)

ionescu,
First off the Red One is not your typical state of the art video camera. At a cost of well over $40,000.00 it is not a camera for wannabe film makers. As a replacement for film it is idle for the movie industry.

Secondly, you'd need a crew just to help move all that equipment to a location to shoot a few seconds of a cow grazing out in a pasture. Even, for example, a simple Canon HV20 adapted with a 35mm lens is not something you'd typically take on a field trip for stock footage.

Maybe for all those wannabe film makers should start out with something simple like a $20.00 Red One T-shirt. lol

Haha, wearing the red shirt and shooting on a canon HV20.... that reminds me my child time, when the boys where wearing the Suzuki jacket and riding a 50cc "Kreidler" or "Zuendapp".... :-)

He, he, he.... Jason, you are right! I am gonna get my T-Shirt and wear it while shooting with my ancient TRV420E. ROFL.
